As usual, we will begin the semester by choosing papers to present. Our first talk on Sept 8th will be by Yang Ni who will present a longer version of his PLDI'05 presentation. Next, Prof Ryder will present on September 15, 2005.
We have two reading lists to peruse for papers this semester. One is our ongoing, older list of readings in specialized areas of OOPLs (which has not been pruned of the papers we covered last year). The second (preferred) list, consists of selected papers from conferences held over the past year or so.
Reading group will cover research topics in the testing of object-oriented programming languages, such as Java and C++. We may cover topics including static and dynamic analyses, software tools and standard testing methodology, especially as they pertain to the testing task. Our focus will be on recent research papers but we also will cover seminal works. We also will have practice conference talk presentations, as needed.
The reading list from the last time we held reading group, shows the kinds of articles we read. We especially examine papers from relevant conferences: PLDI, OOPSLA, ICSE, FSE, ISSTA, CC, ICSM, etc. and journals: SPE, TOSEM, TOPLAS, IEEE-TSE.
